【摘要】:Thispracticeisintendedtostandardizetheapparatususedandthemethodorpatternofapplicationofastandardhosestreamtobuildingelementsasonepartoftheassessmentandfireresistanceratingofbuildingelements.Thispracticespecifiesthewaterpressureanddurationofexposureorapplicationofthehosestreamtothetestassembly.Thispracticeisintendedtobeusedonlyafteratestassemblyhascompletedaprescribedstandardfire-resistancetest.Thepracticeexposesatestassemblytoastandardhosestreamundercontrolledlaboratoryconditions.Pass/failcriteriaaredefinedintheappropriatefiretestmethod.Thisexposureisnotintendedtoreplicatetypicalfirefightingoperationsorallappliedorimpactloadsasystemcouldbesubjectedtoinfielduseandconditions.Anyvariationfromtestedconditionshasthepotentialofsubstantiallychangingtheperformancecharacteristicsdeterminedbythispractice.1.1Thispracticeisapplicabletobuildingelementsrequiredtobesubjectedtotheimpact,erosion,andcoolingeffectsofahosestreamaspartofafire-test-responsestandard.Buildingelementsinclude,butarenotlimitedto,wallandpartitionassemblies,fire-resistivejointsystems,anddoors.1.2Thispracticeshallregisterperformanceofthebuildingelementunderspecifichosestreamconditions.Itshallnotimplythat,eitherafterexposureorunderotherconditions,thestructuralcapabilityofthebuildingelementisintactorthatthebuildingelementissuitableforuse.1.3Theresultderivedfromthispracticeisonefactorinassessingtheintegrityofbuildingelementsafterfireexposure.Thepracticeprescribesastandardhosestreamexposureforcomparingperformanceofbuildingelementsafterfireexposureandevaluatesvariousmaterialsandconstructiontechniquesundercommonconditions.1.4Units8212;Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.5Thetextofthisstandardreferencesnoteswhichprovideexplanatorymaterial.Thesenotesshallnotbeconsideredasrequirementsofthestandard.1.6Thisfirestandardcannotbeusedtoprovidequantitativemeasures.1.7Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
