【摘要】:Radiometricmonitorsshallprovideaprovenpassivedosimetrytechniqueforthedeterminationofneutronfluencerate(fluxdensity),fluence,andspectruminadiversevarietyofneutronfields.Thesedataarerequiredtoevaluateandestimateprobablelong-termradiation-induceddamagetonuclearreactorstructuralmaterialssuchasthesteelusedinreactorpressurevesselsandtheirsupportstructures.Anumberofradiometricmonitors,theircorrespondingneutronactivationreactions,andradioactivereactionproductsandsomeofthepertinentnuclearparametersoftheseRMsandproductsarelistedinTable1.Table2providesdata(35)onthecumulativeandindependentfissionyieldsoftheimportantfissionmonitors.AdditionalfissionproductreactionsthatmayprovideinsituphotofissioninformationwillbeaddedtoTable1asinformationisdevelopedandverified(23-29,36-39).1.1Thismethoddescribesgeneralproceduresformeasuringthespecificactivitiesofradioactivenuclidesproducedinradiometricmonitors(RMs)bynuclearreactionsinducedduringsurveillanceexposuresforreactorvesselsandsupportstructures.MoredetailedproceduresforindividualRMsareprovidedinseparatestandardsidentifiedinandinRefs,.Themeasurementresultscanbeusedtodefinecorrespondingneutroninducedreactionratesthatcaninturnbeusedtocharacterizetheirradiationenvironmentofthereactorvesselandsupportstructure.Theprincipalmeasurementtechniqueishighresolutiongamma-rayspectrometry,althoughX-rayphotonspectrometryandBetaparticlecountingareusedtoalesserdegreeforspecificRMs().1.1.1Themeasurementproceduresincludecorrectionsfordetectorbackgroundradiation,randomandtruecoincidencesumminglosses,differencesingeometrybetweencalibrationsourcestandardsandtheRMs,selfabsorptionofradiationbytheRM,otherabsorptioneffects,andradioactivedecaycorrections(,).1.1.2Specificactivitiesarecalculatedbytakingintoaccountthetimedurationofthecount,theelapsedtimebetweenstartofcountandtheendoftheirradiation,thehalflife,themassofthetargetnuclideintheRM,andthebranchingintensitiesoftheradiationofinterest.Usingtheappropriatehalflifeandknownconditionsoftheirradiation,thespecificactivitiesmaybeconvertedintocorrespondingreactionrates().1.1.3Proceduresforcalculationofreactionratesfromtheradioactivitymeasurementsandtheirradiationpowertimehistoryareincluded.Areactionratecanbeconvertedtoneutronfluencerateandfluenceusingtheappropriateintegralcrosssectionandeffectiveirradiationtimevalues,and,withotherreactionratescanbeusedtodefinetheneutronspectrumthroughtheuseofsuitablecomputerprograms().1.1.4TheuseofbenchmarkneutronfieldsforcalibrationofRMscanreducesignificantlyoreliminatesystematicerrorssincemanyparameters,andtheirrespectiveuncertainties,requiredforcalculationofabsolutereactionratesarecommontoboththebenchmarkandtestmeasurementsandthereforeareselfcanceling.Thebenchmarkequivalentfluencerates,fortheenvironmenttested,canbecalculatedfromadirectratioofthemeasuredsaturatedactivitiesinthetwoenvironmentsandthecertifiedbenchmarkfluencerate().
