【摘要】:ThisBritishStandardspecifiesperformanceandsafetyrequirementsforgas-poweredventilatoryresuscitators(hereinafterreferredtoasresuscitators)intendedforusewithpatientsofanybodymass.Requirementsarealsoincludedforequipmentessentialfortheuseofaresuscitatorasaself-containedpieceofportableequipment,e.g.agassupplysystemandcarryingcase.Itappliestoresuscitatorsintendedforusebyparamedicalandmedicalpersonnelandalsoforemergencyusebypersonnelwithverylimitedtraining.Theymaybeusedatthesceneofemergenciesbothinsideandoutsidehospitalsorduringpatienttransport.NorequirementsareincludedforfacemasksalthoughrecommendationsforthesearegiveninAnnexA.Operator-poweredresuscitators,electrically-poweredresuscitators,automaticpressure-cycledgas-poweredresuscitators,deviceswhichhavebeendesignedonlytodelivergasestoapatientbreathingadequately,ordeviceswhicharedesignedtoassistorprovidefortheventilationofapatientforanextendedperiodoftimeareoutsidethescopeofthisstandard.Theeffectiveandsafeuseofaventilatoryresuscitatorisdeterminednotonlybytheperformanceoftheresuscitator,butalsobytheskilloftheoperator.Thisstandarddoesnotdescribethecontentofthetrainingprogrammestodevelopsuchskillanddoesnotstatewhoshouldorshouldnotusearesuscitator;thiswillbedeterminedbytheorganizationsinvolvedinteachingresuscitation.Ventilatoryresuscitatorscomplyingwiththerequirementsofthisstandardaresuitableforusewithclosed-chestcardiaccompression.Currentlyavailableautomaticpressure-cycledgas-poweredresuscitatorsarenotconsideredsuitableforsuchusebecausetheincreasedintrathoracicpressureoccurringduringchestcompressioncausestheresuscitatortocyclefromtheinspiratorymodetotheexpiratorymodepriortoadequateventilationofthelungs.Theseresuscitatorshavethereforebeenexcludedfromthescopeofthisstandard.Ventilatoryresuscitatorsareusedinwidelyvaryingenvironmentsandadditionalrequirementsmaybenecessaryincertainsituations,e.g.inminerescuework,whereaflammableortoxicatmospheremaybepresent,orwhereadustyenvironmentmayoccur.
