【摘要】:ThispartofISO/IEC9314specifiesahybridringcontrol(HRC)protocolwhichprovidesamodeofoperationinwhichbothpacketswitchedandisochronousdataaretransmittedwithinthesamespecialframestructure,calledacycle.HRCisdesignedtooperatewiththeexistingmediaaccesscontrol(MAC),physicallayer(PHY),andphysicalmediumdependent(PMD)layersoftheFDDIprotocol.TheHRCiscomposedofthehybridmultiplexer(H-MUX)andtheisochronousmediaaccesscontrol(I-MAC)protocols.TheH-MUXintegratespacketandisochronousdataintocycleswhichittransmitsontoandreceivesfromthemediumusingtheservicesofthephysicallayer.TheI-MACprovidesseparatetransmissionchannelsforthetransferofuserisochronousdatastreams.Theformat,clockingandsynchronizationofcycles,andtheoperationandinterfacesoftheH-MUXandI-MACaredefinedbythispartofISO/IEC9314.TheseinterfacesincludetheinterfacetotheFDDIstationmanagement(SMT)protocol.TheHRCisdesignedtosupportvarioustransmissionrates,from100Mbpsupwards,inincrementsof6,144Mbps.AlltransmissionratedependentparametersdefinedinthispartofISO/IEC9314assumeatransmissionrateof100Mbps.StationscomposedofFDDIandHRCentitiesarereferredtoasFDDI-IIstations.TheFDDIpacketMAC(P-MAC)andtheHRCcomponents,andtheirarchitecturalrelationshiptoLLCandacircuitswitchingMultiplexer(CS-MUX)areillustratedinfigure1.ThisfiguredoesnotimplyanimplementationconfigurationFDDI-IInetworksconsistofFDDI-IIstations.InteroperabilitybetweenFDDIandFDDI-IIstationsonthesamenetworkisprovidedinHRCbasicmode,whichonlysupportspackettransmission.ThesetofFDDIstandards,ISO/IEC9314,specifiestheinterfaces,functions,andoperationsnecessarytoensureinteroperabilitybetweenconformingFDDIimplementations.ThispartofISO/IEC9314specifiesahybridringcontrolprotocol:HRC.Conformingimplementationsmayemployanydesigntechniquethatdoesnotviolateinteroperability.
